On July 19, 2008, Tim Mrozinski, CFMA Past President and CFMA Chaplain, traveled to Sturbridge, Massachusetts.  Old Sturbridge Village put together their first fire demo and fire display of antique hand pumpers and bucket brigades.  It was part of their Living History Museum of 1830 through 1860.  Tim was invited to participate by Dave Falconi.  Dave was in Columbia during the muster in 2007 and is returning for the Columbia Muster in 2009.  The event went from 10 AM to 4 PM and was attended by some 300 people.  Tim explained the use and history of the fire equipment on display and also talked about CFMA and our fire musters.  The East coast does muster but different from ours.  Tim says CFMA was well received and the event was a great success.  There are plans to do it again next year.  Thank you Tim for representing CFMA in this event.

On December 9, 2007 from 9 to 12 AM at the Clovis Memorial Building, our very own Joe Rosa, CFMA Past President, will be handing out Christmas gifts to kids who are burn victims.  At our October meeting our members voted to donate $200 for gifts for the kids.  Joe has been doing this for several years.  At the same time Joe will present a check to the burn foundation from CFMA.  Thanks to all our members for making this possible.  This years check will be for $12,000.  So if you have some time and are in the area stop by and say Hi.  Thanks Joe for all you do.

CHRISTMAS PARTY

This years Christmas party for burn victims was held at the Clovis Memorial Building on December 9.  CFMA donated $200.00 towards the purchase of gifts for the kids.

Santa arrived on an open cab Clovis engine and as in past years Santa was our own Joe Rosa.  Joe is a member of CFMA and a past president.  The kids all got their picture taken with Santa then got to pick out a gift from the table.  All gifts were set out by age.  Kids 13 and up received gift certificates.  Fun was had by all but Santa probably had the most fun.

Some of those in attendance to help Joe were Joe Rosa Jr., Tulare County Fire, John Wilson, Tulare County/Kings County Fire, engines from North Central/Fresno City, Fresno City Fire, Clovis Fire, Visalia Fire, and Selma Fire.

Joe and company visited the burn unit at Fresno Community Hospital and spread some Christmas cheer to the burn victims.

Joe Rosa presented a check from CFMA for $12,000.00 to Renee Cozens, manager of the burn center.

Thanks to all who attended and thanks to all who donated food for the Christmas party.  What a wonderful thing to do during the Christmas season.  God Bless to all.

Thank you Joe for again representing CFMA and taking care of business.

Happy New Year - May God Bless
