STEAMERS
There is nothing like the smell of burning coal to start your Sunday morning. This event begins well before competition starts. The Chief Engineer of the Steamer must start and stoke the fire to prepare it for duty. The steamer must obtain at least 100 pounds of pressure and be spotted to a water source before it can perform. At the start of competition, the crew of the steamer sets up to draft while a hose cart team lays 150 feet of hose from the steamer toward the target. A nozzle is connected and the steamer charges the line. Time stops when the target falls.
