SUPPORTING OUR TROOPS |

In the first part of year of 2007, CFMA got involved in supporting of Our Troops. We sent packages to the men and women of the armed services serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. We started with $1000 for goodies and mailing. Each package had a cover letter letting that person know who and what CFMA is all about. It also included our website and a note that we are behind them and appreciate their service to the United States of America. The response back from the troops has been great. They appreciate the packages but even more they like knowing we support them. We have also had donations from our muster folks to include in the packages. At our annual October meeting I requested another $1000 to continue sending packages to the troops. God Bless CFMA, it was increased to $2500. During December just in time for Christmas, 50 packages were sent. Each box had some Christmas lights and decorations, food, phone cards, some games, snacks and personal stuff. Each box also had 5 to 6 Christmas cards. Some were from kids from schools in California and Washington, some cards came from local businesses. We placed cards in several businesses for their customers to sign. Well we still had some money left so in February we sent out a bunch more. So far to date CFMA has sent just over 180 packages to Our Troops. We just finished our annual March meeting and once again CFMA has been most generous having approved another $2500 in support of Our Troops. I will add to this as we continue to send packages. Here are a couple of the emails/letters I've received from the troops. They have my name on them but that is only because of the shippers address. These are really to CFMA.

| Thanks once again CFMA. As of this month, July 2008, we have shipped 230 packages to Our Troops. This will be it until later this year. Hopefully we can again send out Christmas packages. Below you will find some letters from kids that were sent with the packages and also any letters or emails from the troops. | ||
| November 25, 2008. Christmas packages are on their way to the troops. We have sent 75 packages to the troops in time for Christmas. Thanks to CFMA we continue to make a difference. Thank you everyone for your gifts and support. | ||
| As of March 21, 2009 we have sent almost 400 packages to Our Troops. The last ones were shipped in March. At the March meeting CFMA voted to continue sending goodies to Our Troops. Thank you to all. The next shipment will be in July or August of 2009 so if you have anything you would like to send along please get it to me. As always I am needing names and addresses.
